The Right Dog Kennel For Your Canine

Decorative dog crates

Did you know that nearly 50 million U.S. households own a dog? That’s nearly 50 percent of all households! Dogs are our companions and tried and true friends. They greet us when we get home, they love on us when we are sad, and they are always up for a walk or belly rub. If you are an existing dog owner or someone who is interested in getting a new dog for your home, there are a few things to remember that will make the transition a bit easier. Below are three dog items to make sure and not forget when bringing your new furry friend home:

1. Dog Kennels and Crates - Making sure you have a space in your home for your dog to call their own is really important to making them feel safe. One way to do this is to remember to have dog kennels and crates ready when your dog arrives home for the first time. Dog kennels and crates come in all shapes and sizes, but you want to make sure that your dog has plenty of room in theirs so that they are comfortable if they are meant to sleep there.

2. Blankets and Heating Pads - One item that is often overlooked when it comes to owning a dog is a specific dog blanket or heating pad for puppies. Giving a dog a specific blanket in their kennel or crate is a great way for them to acclimate to your space and also a great way to make sure they feel comfortable on trips where they are away from their home. Heating pads are incredibly important for bringing puppies home because sleeping next to something warm mimics what it was like for them to sleep next to their mother. This is just one more thing you can do to make your dog feel welcome and happy in their new home.

3. Dog Waste Bags - This may not be the most glamorous dog item that you need to purchase, but it is necessary. Dog waste bags come in various sizes and colors and are can also be compostable so that you are not adding to the amount of plastic in the landfills. There are many cities in the United States that actually fine dog owners for not picking up their dog waste in public spaces. Ordering dog waste bags in bulk is a great way to save money and stock up all at the same time.

Owning a dog is really a joy. You give love to them and they return the favor every single time. Just remember that making your pup comfortable in your home is an important part of them becoming a member of your family, and it is not difficult for you to do. Start by purchasing dog kennels and crates, then remember to give them a special blanket, and always make sure you have dog poop bags around in case of emergencies. Your dog will love you no matter what; the least you can do is show them that same love by giving them some of the items they need the most.

We Love Our Doggies
I love animals, especially dogs and cats, which is why I created this website. My name is Tina and I am a proud pet owner of two dogs, a cat, and a few fish. I was inspired to created this site because I grew up with pets from a young age and I even managed to take care of a dog when I lived off-campus in college.
